Terms of Service
Version 2026-11-06 · Last updated: November 6, 2026
These terms apply to every order you place with DeerStride ("we", "us", "our"). "You" means the person or business placing the order. Your order is made up of these terms, the package description on our website at the time you order, and the agreement you sign online before paying. If they ever differ, the signed agreement comes first, then the package description, then these terms.
We've written these in plain English. Please read them before you order, and ask us at team@deerstride.com if anything is unclear.
1. Your Order and Signature
- Before paying, you sign our online agreement: you tick each required box and type your full name. Your typed name is your legally binding signature, with the same effect as a handwritten one. The date and time are recorded automatically.
- Your order is placed when you complete checkout. For the first business hour your card is only held, not charged; after that the payment goes through (see Cancellation and Refunds). We keep a record of your signed agreement, linked to your payment by an order number.
- Please check that your project fits your package's published limits (for example a page or slide count) before you order. If it doesn't, the cancellation terms in clause 3 apply.
2. Payment
- Prices are in US dollars and are shown on the package page and at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; card details go directly to Stripe and never pass through our website.
- How you pay depends on the package (see Package Terms): reviews, audits and templates are paid in full when you order; larger projects are paid either as an advance to start and a balance on delivery, or in full with Buy Now; monthly plans are billed monthly in advance.
- Paid changes or additions are quoted in writing and paid before that work begins.
- If a payment is reversed or disputed after we've started or delivered work, we may pause the work, and we'll share your signed agreement and our order records with the payment provider.
3. Cancellation and Refunds
- Free cancellation within one business hour. You may cancel any order free of charge within one business hour of completing checkout. Our business hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm Pacific, excluding US federal holidays; an order placed outside them keeps its hour for the next business morning. During that hour your card is only held: we release the hold and you're never charged.
- Cancellations must be in writing: use the Cancel Now button in your order email (“Thank You for Considering DeerStride”), which applies these terms for you automatically, or email cancellation@deerstride.com. A cancellation takes effect when you confirm it with the button, or when your email reaches that inbox. We can't accept cancellations by phone or in person.
- After the free business hour, before delivery: if you cancel, or your order is closed under these terms, we keep 50% of the order's total price. If you paid in full, we refund the other 50%. If you paid an advance, the advance covers it. This is a reasonable estimate of our costs for the time we reserve for you and the work we begin; it isn't a penalty. The same rule applies to every client and every package (the SEO Health Audit, the Package Review, monthly plans and templates: see Package Terms).
- After delivery, nothing is refunded, and any balance is still due.
- Pausing instead of cancelling. Once per order, you may ask in writing, within 7 days of your order, to pause it for up to 30 days. Tell us within those 30 days and we continue where we left off. If we don't hear from you, your order is closed and the 50% rule above applies.
- If we cancel an order before starting work, or can't deliver what you ordered, we refund what you paid for the undelivered work.
- Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under law that can't be waived.
4. What's Included, and Changes
- Your package includes only what its description lists. Anything beyond it, including extra pages, extra revision rounds, new features or work outside the scope, costs extra, and is quoted and agreed in writing and paid before that work begins.
- Each package states how many rounds of changes are included. Unused rounds don't carry over.
5. Delivery and Your Information
- Delivery times are in business days (Monday to Friday, excluding US public holidays) and start once we have your payment and everything we need from you.
- One complete submission. Please send all your information and documents together, so we can review them as a whole.
- If information arrives late or incomplete, or changes after we've begun, the delivery date moves accordingly. We never rush or cut corners to meet a date.
- If we're waiting on you and don't hear from you for 30 days, your order is closed and the 50% rule applies (see Cancellation and Refunds). You're welcome to reopen it later at our then-current price.
- We deliver your files through a private download link that works for 15 days. After that, for privacy reasons, the files are permanently deleted from our servers, and we aren't responsible for files that weren't downloaded in time. Please keep your own copies of everything we deliver.
6. No Guaranteed Results
We prepare materials, analysis, recommendations and tools. We do not promise any particular outcome, including loan approval, funding, investment, search rankings, placement in search results or AI-generated answers, website traffic, leads, sales, revenue or savings. Lenders, investors, platforms, search engines, customers and markets make their own decisions, which we don't control. Our work reflects the information available on the date we prepared it.
Projections are your own forward-looking estimates. Actual results may differ, and we don't guarantee them.
7. Independent Provider; Client Responsibilities and Limitation of Liability
We provide our services as an independent contractor. Nothing in your order creates a partnership, joint venture, agency, franchise or employment relationship, and we do not endorse, verify or take part in your business, products, claims or decisions.
Client Responsibilities and Limitation of Liability. We operate strictly as a service provider. You keep sole responsibility for providing all financial data, records and related information in a complete, accurate and structured format. All deliverables depend on you providing this information on time. The responsibility for the truth, validity and accuracy of all financial figures rests with you alone. We don't audit or independently verify the source data you provide, and we're not liable for any errors, omissions or regulatory penalties resulting from inaccurate, incomplete or delayed information.
You also confirm that all information, content and materials you give us are truthful, lawful, and owned or licensed by you, and that you hold any licenses or permits your business needs. You alone are responsible for how you use our work, including anything you submit to lenders, investors, customers, platforms or authorities.
We are not responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any products, services, advice, statements or conduct you provide to your own customers, clients or the public, including through any website, content, plan, tool or materials we prepared. We may decline, pause or end work, without liability, if we reasonably believe it is or may be used for an unlawful, fraudulent, misleading or deceptive purpose.
Not professional advice. We're not accountants, auditors, lawyers, investment advisers or brokers, and our work isn't legal, tax, accounting, audit, investment or securities advice.
For you only. Our work is prepared for you only. Lenders, investors or anyone else you share it with may not rely on it as ours, and we owe them no duty.
8. Your Use of Our Work, Including Marketing and Spam
- You are solely responsible for what you and anyone acting for you do with our work, including websites, forms, lead-capture tools, templates, plans, ads and content.
- Marketing and spam. You are solely responsible for your own emails, text messages, calls, ads and social posts, including any sent through a website, form or tool we built. You must follow all laws that apply to them, including anti-spam, telemarketing, text-messaging and privacy laws (for example the CAN-SPAM Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act), and you must get any consent those laws require. We don't send marketing messages for you, and we are not responsible or liable for any message you or your tools send.
- You are responsible for the information your customers give you through anything we built, and for handling it lawfully, including showing your own privacy notice.
- Fundraising and securities. You're responsible for following the laws that apply to any fundraising or offer you make. We don't solicit investors, act as a broker or arrange investments.
- You agree not to use our work for anything unlawful, harmful, misleading or deceptive, or that infringes someone else's rights.
9. Third-Party Providers and Links
- Our services rely on, and our website and work may mention or link to, other companies' products, services and websites. Examples include payment processors, website hosts, domain registrars, email and form services, search engines, AI tools, social media platforms, spreadsheet software, marketplaces, lenders and other businesses.
- These providers are independent of us. We don't own, control, endorse or guarantee them, and their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. Any services they provide to you are provided by them, not by us.
- We are not responsible or liable for their services, content, availability, outages, errors, fees, price or policy changes, decisions (for example a search engine's ranking or a lender's decision), or how they handle your information.
- Where an account with a provider is needed, such as for your domain or hosting, it's opened in your own name and you control it. We never ask for, or hold, your passwords.
10. Your Content and Our Work
- Your content: you confirm you own, or have permission to use, everything you give us (photos, logos, text, reviews, figures and data). If there's ever a question, it's up to you to show you have those rights. You give us permission to use your content only to do your work.
- Files you share: you confirm you have the right to share every file and document you give us, or link us to. We keep our copies only for your project and delete them 90 days after delivery. Once the work is done, please remove our access to any folder you shared. Keeping your shared files safe is your responsibility. You decide what you share, how you share it (for example “Anyone with the link can view”) and for how long. Please share only what we need, keep the link private, and remove our access once the work is done. We aren’t responsible for who else can open a link you create, or for your storage provider’s security.
- Our work: once you've paid in full, you may use the finished work for your own business. We keep ownership of our templates, methods, tools and know-how, and any ready-made templates are licensed to you as described on their page; they may not be resold, shared or republished.
- Confidentiality: we keep your information confidential and use it only for your project (see our Privacy notice).
- AI-assisted tools: we may use AI-assisted tools in our work; every deliverable is reviewed by us before it's sent.
- We'll ask your permission before showing your work in our portfolio.
11. Limits on Our Liability
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to your order is limited to the amount you paid us for that order.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including lost profits, revenue, data, opportunities or goodwill.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, fines and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your information, your content, your business, your marketing or messages, or your use of our work.
- These limits don't apply where the law doesn't allow them, for example to liability for fraud or willful misconduct.
12. Electronic Signatures and Records
- By ticking the e-signature box in our agreement, you consent to sign electronically and to receive your agreement, receipts and other notices by email, for this order.
- You'll need a device with an up-to-date web browser and an email address you can access, and a way to save or print PDFs and emails.
- You may ask for a paper copy of your signed agreement at no charge, or withdraw your consent to electronic records for future notices, by emailing support@deerstride.com. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect anything already signed.
- Please tell us at support@deerstride.com if your email address changes.
13. Package Terms
Reviews (for example the Presentation Review and Plan Review)
- Paid in full when you order. After the free business hour, the 50% rule applies until delivery (see Cancellation and Refunds).
SEO Health Audit and Package Review
- Paid in full, one-time, when you order.
- You may cancel free of charge within one business hour of your order. After that, the order can't be cancelled or refunded.
- Please check that your website or documents fit the scope published on the service page before you order.
- SEO Health Audit: a diagnosis and written recommendations only; it doesn't include making changes to your website.
- Package Review: we review the presentation, financial model and business plan you send at the time of your order, all together, and recommend improvements; it doesn't include fixing or rebuilding them.
Projects (for example website builds, investor presentations and loan packages)
- Ask Us First: an advance is paid to start and the balance on delivery. Where the package includes going live (for example a website), it goes live once the balance is paid.
- Buy Now: paid in full at checkout.
- After the free business hour, the 50% rule applies until delivery, and after delivery any balance is still due (see Cancellation and Refunds).
Changing Your Package
- Within the free business hour: cancel free of charge and order the package you'd prefer.
- After the free business hour, before work on the change begins: moving up, you pay only the difference. Moving down, we refund 50% of the difference (the same 50% rule as a cancellation).
- Adding another package: each package has its own agreement, under the same Client No.
- Changes are agreed in writing, by email to support@deerstride.com.
Monthly and multi-year plans
- Billed monthly in advance. Each plan's agreement states its term, what's included and how to cancel.
- After the free business hour, cancelling before the end of the agreed term needs 30 days' written notice, and a cancellation fee of 50% of the remaining plan fees applies, as a reasonable estimate of our loss (the capacity we reserve and the costs we commit to for your term). It isn't a penalty.
Ready-made templates and downloads
- Paid in full at purchase, and licensed to you for the use described on the product page.
- Because digital files can't be returned, refunds aren't available once a file has been delivered, except where a file is faulty and we can't fix it, or where the law requires otherwise.
14. General
- Changes to these terms: we may update these terms for future orders. The version in effect when you placed your order applies to that order. The version number is at the top of this page.
- Events outside our control: we're not responsible for delays caused by events we can't reasonably control, such as outages at a provider, illness, natural disasters or internet failures. We'll keep you informed in writing.
- Governing law: these terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
- If part is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- Records: we keep signed agreements and order records for at least 4 years.
- Contact: questions to team@deerstride.com; changes and concerns about an existing order to support@deerstride.com; cancellations to cancellation@deerstride.com.
